About Acupuncture
Traditional Acupuncture can help with a variety or complaints. Very fine sterile needles are placed into points along channels known as meridians. Acupuncture is virtually painless and can evoke a powerful sense of wellbeing. Traditional acupuncture is over 3000 years old and is a gentle restorative form of medicine.
Most associate acupuncture with treating pain, and while it is a very effective form of pain management it is also valuable in treating a much wider spectrum of problems. For example:
Fertility issues
Digestive problems
Menstrual disorders
Arthritis
Stress and anxiety
Depression
Treatment is tailored to the individual and takes into account the main problem a person may be suffering from and and other issues they may have. You do not have to have a medical condition to benefit from treatment, as acupuncture can help to prevent ill health and improve energy levels.
The first session involves a full consultation, diagnosis and the first treatment. This takes an hour and a half. Treatment thereafter is 1 hour. Normally 6-8 treatments are recommended for you to see a lasting change in your condition, this is discussed on an individual basis to work around your needs.
